Johns Hopkins Libraries are happy to share that we have signed four new publisher agreements that will support JHU Open Access publications now, and into the future.
JH Libraries have established unlimited/uncapped publishing support for these 4 new publishers:
- American Society of Microbiology (ASM)
- American Physiological Society (APS)
- Biochemical Society,
- Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
In order to qualify for these OA benefits, you must be an active JHU faculty/staff/student and be the corresponding author of the manuscript. To expedite the processing of this, or any OA benefit, you should identify your primary affiliation as “Johns Hopkins University” and use your JHU email address when submitting your manuscript.
Although Author Publishing Charges (APCs) are waived for all four publishers, publishers may still have specific additional publishing fees, specifically:
- ASM Journals have Page Charges, however JHU corresponding authors will get a 25% discount on Page Charges. If you are an ASM member, you qualify for a full 50% discount on Page Charges.
- Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory has an OA fee. JHU corresponding authors now qualify for a fee reduction for the Standard OA Fee from $3,700 USD to $2,035 USD.
We are very excited by these new publisher agreements, as supporting our JHU faculty/staff/students and their research publishing endeavors is of paramount importance to JH Libraries. Please check out the Library’s Open Access Guide for a complete listing of all of publisher relationships that offer active JHU faculty/staff/students either an APC waiver or an APC discount.
