The companies that provide online journals, books, and databases to academic libraries know that we don’t want them to change the way they look during the school year. So during August you’re going to see things change in some of the library resources.
- SpringerLink provides online journal and book content. They will relaunch with a new platform
- Wiley, another online journal provider, will also move to their new Wiley Online Library platform at the same time. Wiley journals and books will not be available Saturday, August 7th and most of Sunday, August 8th.
- The EBSCOhost database platform, which houses many of our databases like Academic Search Complete and Business Source Premier, will make some changes early in August.
- Elsevier will be merging ScienceDirect (book and journal content), Scopus (database), Scirus (science-oriented web browser), with productivity software sometime in August. This will create SciVerse.
We hope these changes will ultimately benefit your research. Please be patient with any delays this weekend. Please report any problems you run into via our Ask A Librarian form.
