The Albert D. Hutzler Reading Room — fondly known as “the HUT” — reopens on Monday, July 19 at 8 am. As part of the Gilman Hall renovation/restoration project, the HUT has been closed for the past two years.
If you’ve been missing the HUT, the long wait is over. If you’ve never been and are wondering what the big deal is, consider this: When Gilman Hall closed in 2008, Hopkins students got together with library staff to throw it a farewell party.
Come celebrate its reopening by visiting and admiring its newly restored stained glass windows, well appointed study spaces, and — best of all — air conditioning!
Summer hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 6 pm.
Expanded hours, including weekends, will begin after Labor Day.
