Even though the Hopkins Summer Film Series has ended, there are still opportunities around Baltimore to watch movies for free in the great outdoors! Check out the Little Italy Open Air Film Festival and the Flicks from the Hill series sponsored by the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM). This Thursday’s showing “from the hill” (Federal Hill, that is) is the 1933 classic King Kong! And, on Friday, Little Italy will showcase It Started in Naples, starring Clark Gable, Sophia Loren, and Vittorio De Sica.
Not sure how to get there? Here is a map to Little Italy and one to AVAM.
Don’t have a car? You can get to both places by using a combination of the JHU-JHMI Shuttle and the new (free!) Charm City Circulator bus.
And, don’t forget, you can have your own personal film festival at your house (well, not if you sell tickets – that’s a copyright violation!) by checking out DVDs from MSEL’s extensive film collection. Find our films by title using the Quick Movie Search.
I’m glad you agree! Since both events are hosted by other institutions, you’ll need to contact them for alternative rain date or venue information. Just follow the links and investigate the other sites. I didn’t see the info listed, so you may need to contact them. Have fun!
GREAT EVENTS…..WILL THERE BE RAIN DATES ?
