REAXYS is the new way to access the Beilstein (organic chemistry) and Gmelin (inorganic and organometallic chemistry) databases.
REAXYS is a web-based search and retrieval system for chemical compounds, chemical reactions, chemical properties, related bibliographic data, and substance data with synthesis planning information. In addition to Beilstein and Gmelin, a new chemical patent literature and associated properties database is now included. These three resources are combined into one seamless research tool.
REAXYS is available now. Registration is not required, but it is encouraged and will allow you to save “hits” and create alerts. Structure/reaction searching requires Java version 5.0 or later.
The Crossfire client software currently used for searching Beilstein and Gmelin will stop functioning in December 2010.
