Use RefWorks? If so, you might be interested in knowing about three enhancements to the online personal citation database announced earlier this month.
Write-N-Cite III (beta) offers the ability to write and format papers and generate bibliographies, while working offline. Think of it as a read-only version of your RefWorks database, maintaining most familiar functionality. Tip: RefWorks suggests you delete earlier versions of W-N-C before downloading beta version three.
RefWorks has been updated to comply with new APA citation style requirements. Specifically, RefWorks will include a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) field, putting DOIs in your bibliography when they exist in your database and the APA output style is selected. For the curious, APA defines a DOI as, “a unique alphanumeric string assigned by a registration agency to identify content and provide a persistent link to its location on the Internet.â€
Ever deleted a reference in error? No more sunken feelings with RefWorks. References you delete from your account will now be automatically stored in your “Deleted References” folder for thirty, count ’em, thirty days.
Click here to login to RefWorks (using your JHED ID) to put these new features to the test.
