Year-end lists of best books are a great place to find something to read, and to get gift ideas for that difficult person on
your list. (Hint: I also look back on these lists during the course of the year, when I'm stuck for something to read).
Peruse these lists to see what you might want to read, now that all those papers are finished, and what you might buy for your Mom or brother, your roommate or best friend, for Christmas or Hannukah or whatever end-of-the-year festival you celebrate. Festivus anyone?

- NPR’s Best Books
- Publishers Weekly Best Books
- Poetry anyone? The Indie Lit Award suggestions for 2011
- And more! Seems anyone can post their faves. Here's one from a blog called Books Distilled.
And don’t forget old books as well (the best kind IMHO). Take a look at the super-site AbeBooks. Not a bad way to celebrate the end of the semester!
