Attend E-books for Academics , a library workshop  held on Wednesday, October 5, 4:30-5:30PM, on Q level of the library (in the CER, past Cafe Q, last door on your left).

Why will this workshop help you? Because the e-books that most of us are familiar with are the ones that you buy from online booksellers and which instantly appear on our e-devices. However, academic e-books — such as those from EBL, Oxford, and Safari — work a bit differently, on your desktop computer *or* on an e-device.

During the workshop, you will see:

  • How to find e-books in the library catalog
  • What you can and can’t do with them
  • Tips for accessing them on your e-devices

Yes, there will be food because, as everyone knows, sugar helps you think.

If you are a Hopkins affiliate and want to know more about our 1 million+ academic e-books, please register now. And bring any e-reader, tablet, or smart phone on which you read books (or book chapters), so that we can all talk about this together.
