One of the many important responsibilities of a reference librarian is to purchase academic materials on behalf of faculty and students. But how can patrons find these recent acquisitions?

The library showcases new books in two specific locations:

  • The latest in the humanities and social sciences are kept on the long shelf in the M-Level lobby, next to the McNaughton Collection of popular books and DVDs.
  • Science and engineeering are shelved in the C-Level case by the copy center.

New materials—all available for circulation—are added on a continual basis, so check back often to find the latest publications in your field. After a month in the limelight, the books are integrated into the stacks. Have a specific request? Talk to your subject librarian.
